Sansara Surf & Yoga Resort Expands with New Luxe Cabana

Sansara Surf & Yoga Resort, a holistic beachfront resort located in Cambutal, a small village where the jungle meets the sea in Los Santos, Panama, has completed its newest addition: The Om Suite, the resort’s 12th and most luxurious cabana. Outfitted for single or double occupancy, the Om Suite features a 14-foot private infinity pool, which, in addition to the adjacent hammock-donned terrace, provides unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean.

The Om Suite joins 11 additional single- to quadruple-occupancy cabanas; an open-air yoga shala; a saltwater pool with lounge chairs and hammocks; a restaurant and bar, serving fresh and local food and drink; an oceanfront massage shala for relaxation and physical recovery; and more.

Located on the edge of the black sand beach, the new 600-square foot suite (the resort’s largest), features a king-size bed with 400-thread count bed linens, a rain shower and separate oversized soaking bathtub, outfitted with locally produced organic bath products and views of the ocean. A fully stocked minibar is available, as well as complimentary coffee, tea and bottled water, and a complimentary fresh fruit basket is delivered in-room daily. The suite also features Marshall Bluetooth sound streaming with USB charging capabilities, complimentary WiFi internet access and an in-room safe.

Using its environment as inspiration, co-owners Janel and Mike Phillips designed the Om Suite – much like the entire resort – to fit cohesively into the surrounding nature. Utilizing Cambutal’s most natural elements and products and a team of local builders, they were able to see their vision through.

Sansara specializes in world-class yoga retreats, salty surf sessions and tailored, experiential adventure. The resort is home to one of the best learn-to-surf programs in the Americas, and it plays host to some of the most inspiring teachers, leaders and wellness advocates in the world. Built intentionally for health- and wellness-seeking travelers, the holistic beachfront resort fosters a community-oriented, retreat environment. Guests enjoy daily yoga practice taught by elite staff and visiting teachers, as well as pre-ocean introductory surf lessons; access to complimentary bicycles and SUP boards; group meeting spaces and more.
