The next morning, they’ll depart for seven days of trekking counterclockwise around the Paine Massif.
Follow the Paine River to Dickson Lake, with views of Dickson Glacier and the Southern Patagonian Ice Field in the distance. Continue along the Los Perros River through some of the most wild and remote parts of the O Circuit, past Laguna Los Perros and Los Perros Glacier. Along Lake Grey’s eastern shore, watch for drifting icebergs on the way to the turquoise waters of Pehoe Lake. Follow the French Valley up into the heart of the massif for spectacular views, then return to the shores of colorful Nordenskjold Lake. The last day of the trek, climb past winding rivers and streams and through beech forest in the Ascencio Valley, then cross the steep moraine of massive boulders and glacial debris to the iconic view of the three gigantic granite Towers.
