Fort Young Hotel & Dive Resort, Dominica’s landmark waterfront hotel and dive resort located on the Caribbean coast amidst the Nature Island’s vibrant capital city, Roseau, is excited to announce it is launching 60 new view rooms, named the Fort Collection. As part of Fort Young’s previously announced expansion and enhancement plan, and concurrently with the seaside resort’s 30th-anniversary celebration, the brand new Fort Rooms — located in the newly restored and reimagined historical Fort section of the property — feature modern amenities, local charm and spectacular sea and mountain views. The Fort Collection rooms are available for booking now, with guests able to stay as early as mid-October 2020. The addition of these new accommodations brings the hotel’s total room count to 100.
The Fort Collection includes:
Fort Mountain View: These 28 well-appointed rooms offer either two doubles or one king-sized bed, with balconies facing the mountains to offer spectacular views of nature. Rates begin at USD $194 plus taxes. Rooms may be booked here.
Fort Ocean View: These 32 large and well-appointed rooms offer either two doubles or one king-sized bed, with balconies overlooking the Caribbean Sea to offer breathtaking sunset views. Rates begin at USD $206 plus taxes. Rooms may be booked here.
This resort’s Fort section will also include a number of new enhancements and amenities. In addition to the new Fort Rooms, in 2020 the hotel will unveil a state-of-the-art fitness center featuring eco-friendly equipment; business center; new bar and lounge; 200-seat conference room; 250-seat sun deck for weddings and other events; and, three new meeting rooms. The hotel will also refresh its 40 existing Oceanfront Rooms with upgraded furnishings, bathrooms and amenities. Upon completion, Fort Young Hotel & Dive Resort will be a 4-star property.
Following Hurricane Maria in 2017, Fort Young Hotel & Dive Resort launched several property enhancements, including the addition of Jacko’s, a poolside bar; an expanded boardwalk featuring waterfront shops and Warner’s Bar; a relaunched Palisades Restaurant; and, a new dive operation, Fort Young Dive, which runs daily dives departing directly from the hotel’s shores.
Situated on the waterfront, Fort Young Hotel & Dive Resort is the country’s only downtown hotel, affording guests unmatched proximity to the Nature Island’s vibrant culture, delicious cuisine, exhilarating activities and some of the island’s most prized attractions, like Trafalgar Falls, Middleham Falls, Freshwater Lake, segments of the Waitukubuli National Trail, and world-renowned diving.
